Privacy Policy

This policy covers steppehq.com, the website operated by Steppe LLC (“Steppe”, “we”). It is short because the site does very little.

Software we publish is covered by its own privacy policy, provided with that software. This page is not it.

What this site collects

Nothing that identifies you is collected by us directly. There is no account system, no contact form, and no newsletter signup.

• No analytics. We do not run Google Analytics, or any other analytics or product-telemetry service.
• No cookies. This site sets none. There is no consent banner because there is nothing to consent to.
• No advertising or tracking pixels, no social embeds, and no third-party scripts.
• No third-party font or asset requests. The typefaces are compiled into the site at build time and served from our own domain, so loading a page here does not tell Google — or anyone else — that you visited.

What our host records

The site is hosted by Vercel, which keeps standard server logs of requests: IP address, user agent, the URL requested, and a timestamp. This is ordinary infrastructure logging — it is how any web server works — and it is used to keep the site up, diagnose faults, and block abuse. We do not use it to build a profile of you, and we do not combine it with anything else.

Vercel processes this on our behalf as a service provider. Their handling is governed by Vercel's privacy policy.

If you email us

Mail sent to any @steppehq.com address is routed by Cloudflare Email Routing and delivered to a mailbox we control. When you email us we necessarily have your address, your message, and anything you chose to attach.

We use it to reply to you and to keep a record of the correspondence. We do not add you to a mailing list, and we do not pass it to anyone else.

How long anything is kept

Server logs are retained for a short period by our host and then rotate out automatically. Email correspondence is kept as long as it is useful for the matter it concerns, or as long as we are legally required to keep it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live — including under the GDPR in the EEA and UK, and under state privacy laws in the United States — you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, to object to or restrict its processing, and to complain to a supervisory authority.

We honour these requests regardless of where you live. Email privacy@steppehq.com and we will action it within 30 days. We will not charge you for it or make it difficult.

Children

This site is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

International visitors

We are based in the United States and our host processes data there. If you visit from elsewhere, the request data described above is handled in the US under appropriate safeguards.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, the date at the top changes with it.
